Selling at the Swap
When should I arrive?
Seller setup begins at 8:00 AM.
Please do not arrive early unless you've made prior arrangements. Early arrivals create traffic problems, and we won't begin unloading before 8:00 AM.
How does unloading work?
Parking volunteers will direct you to an unloading area based on how much you're bringing.
If you're attending by yourself, you may:
- Unload your games.
- Move your vehicle to parking.
- Return and begin setting up.
We'll have a few wagons available to help transport games to your selling area.
Can I choose where I set up?
Not exactly.
Volunteers assign selling locations to maximize space, improve traffic flow, and keep walkways open.
Generally:
- Large setups will be placed in the parking lot.
- Smaller setups will be directed toward the grass or pathways.
- If you have a canopy with extra room, we may ask if you'd be willing to share a little space with another seller.
What can I bring?
Bring new or used board games and related gaming items from your collection.
Our host has requested that only second-hand merchandise be sold, so please do not bring handmade products.
What should I bring?
- Table(s)
- Chair(s)
- Canopy (recommended)
- Cash/change if needed
- Food and drinks for yourself
There are also several restaurants and grocery stores nearby.
Is there a limit to how much I can bring?
No, but please be considerate of the available space and those around you.
How do payments work?
Each seller decides which payment methods they accept. Many sellers accept electronic payments, while others may accept cash only.
There are several ATMs within about ½ to 1 mile of the event if needed.
What if I don't want to take everything home?
We'll have:
- A Free Game / Donation area
Remaining donated items will be donated after the event.
Buying
When does buying begin?
Buying begins promptly at 9:00 AM.
This gives sellers time to finish setting up and helps reduce traffic congestion during the busiest part of the morning.
Can I participate in the Math Trade or pick up a presale before 9:00?
Yes. Math Trade and presale pickups are available before buying begins. Please head directly to those tables and avoid browsing seller tables until 9:00 AM.
Auction
How do I submit items?
Bring auction items to the auction tables beginning at 12:00 PM.
Please limit your initial submission to 5 items so everyone has an opportunity to participate. If time allows, we'll gladly accept another round.
How should I prepare my items?
Place a Post-it note on each item containing:
- Your name
- Minimum starting bid (minimum $2)
How does the auction work?
We'll call your name as your items come up.
Please stand, collect payment from the winning bidder, and hand them the item.
Cash is strongly recommended, although some sellers may also accept electronic payments.
What if nobody bids?
You may choose to lower the starting bid. If there are still no bids, the item will be returned to you.
Weather
The event will take place rain or shine.
Canopies are recommended if rain is in the forecast.
